The Czech Republic has established a strong foundation for the green and digital transition, although Green Software Engineering is still emerging within higher education. The country benefits from relatively strong basic digital skills, a well-performing eGovernment ecosystem, and recognised capabilities in advanced fields such as artificial intelligence and quantum technologies. Nevertheless, shortages of ICT specialists and the limited adoption of advanced technologies by many SMEs continue to constrain its digital transformation. GREENByte research shows that students are looking for practical learning opportunities, academics are ready to introduce sustainability into their courses, and industry is increasingly embracing efficient software development practices. The next step is to strengthen cooperation between universities and businesses and provide modern learning resources that connect software engineering principles with energy efficiency, resource optimisation, and measurable environmental impact.
